Realtor Real estate agent (44 years experience) Specialties Buyer's agent Listing agent Relocation Landlord Graduated from De Anza High School in Richmond, earned my BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara in Music Composition studying with Thea Musgrave, and my Teaching Credential in instrumental music from Hayward State. In 1977 I bought my first house and learned hands on about real estate. I obtained my real estate license in 1979 and began working as a Realtor at Markstein Realty in the Elmwood district of Berkeley that year. I sold my two retail stores in 1979 and 1980 (Mo-Ped City) and all my energy went into the exciting new world of real estate, where I represented clients buying and selling houses, apartment buildings, TICs, condominiums, land, commercial buildings, leases, even restaurants and cafes as business opportunities (no longer doing business opportunities). I also purchased 5-plex in Berkeley in 1980 and thru this and other properties that I have bought and sold on my own account have become familiar with property renovations, rehab, repair, Berkeley Rent Control and the condo conversion process that I successfully completed one in 2005. I moved my license to Mason-McDuffie Real Estate in Berkeley from 1983 until 1996 and to RE/MAX on Solano Ave. in Berkeley from 1996 to 2009, where I focused on residential sales including resales of existing homes as well as new construction, condo conversion projects and new live/work loft projects. Moving to the Marvin Gardens office on Hopkins Street in Berkeley in 2009. This office was acquired by Red Oak Realty in 2019 and I continue to work at the same office with wonderful people and a larger and equally wonderful group of agents at Red Oak Realty. When not working in real estate, I enjoy playing music and hiking. I have performed for benefits for the Richmond based YES program raising money to send kids and their families into the outdoors and camping experiences (Rock in the Redwoods 7 years and this year By the Bay), Concert for Canines (5 years - Pleasant Hill and Concord), Rosa Parks Elementary Fund raiser in Berkeley as well as public performances at Keystone Berkeley, Vinnie's in Concord, the Hayward Zucchini Festival, the Ironwood Winery, the USS Hornet aircraft carrier 4th of July celebration in Alameda, the Inglenook Winery in the Napa Valley and many other clubs and events. I have also performed solo at the Zuni Cafe, Enzo's and the Rite Spot in San Francisco and several venues in Paris, France including Conway's, Mother Earth, Le Fer Play and Le Transat.
