INDUCTION STOVES:  Induction cooking uses electromagnetism to turn cooking pans into cookers, which cooks food more quickly and safely, with less energy.  It is more energy efficient than most other methods (around 84% vs 71% for a traditional cooktop) because the heat is produced in the pan--not the cooktop--and much more of the energy goes into the food.
